So they can stop being humiliated by Udemy, which pays less than minimum wage, paid ads that swallow all their profits, and “pirates” who steal all their stuff.
WORK WITH METhey are lovely, wise, and heartfelt.
They really want to teach us amazing stuff.
That’s literally their North Star, I could feel it.
But as I grew up…
I realized that most of them were paid barely minimum wage.
I’ve felt unfair.
They deserve better.
You deserve better, too.
You deserve to earn lots of money with your courses.
Am I wrong?
Don't think I am.
However,
It'll be quite a journey to that point.
Hurdles are always ahead blocking your way.
For instance:
But if you’re still asking whether a chance to boost your course's revenue beyond the “plateau”...
I just want to tell you—the sky is the limit.
You see, building courses is hard enough…
But figuring out how to sell that thing to the right people is another hurdle.
If you have people following you somewhere—whether it’s Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, whatever…
You’ve already done half of the work.
But if you open TikTok (lol) you will see a ton of people trying to drive the audience straight to their Stan Store or Snipfeed.
They try to be “organic”.
The harsh reality? Driving audience and making sales are just two completely different things.
Once you have your precious fans waiting in your “room” (AKA, your social media), you'll face an even bigger problem:
How do you ask them to change their lives by investing in your courses?
Email marketing is one way. (And I’ll explain how later.)
You can either drive them from Instagram to your email list and sell them there…
The place where 60% of buying decisions are made…
The place where you build close, deep, long-term relationships with loyal customers who will keep buying product after product…
The place where, even if your social media accounts are suspended TODAY, you’d still make the same money—or even more.
(Yes, MORE, there’s a way to earn from your misluck like being suspended, and it’s only possible with email marketing.)
Or…
Before that, picture this:
You worked hard on your course content, and finally, you finished.
I understand—the moment when you’ve just accomplished something BIG always feels amazing.
You start imagining how much money you’re gonna make later, the food you’re gonna eat the next day, the place you’re gonna travel to this weekend…
You only need to do one more thing: publish it on Udemy.
Click! You set the price at $99.
Click! You publish the course.
“Done!” you say, swamping yourself into bed.
…
The next day, nothing happens.
So does the day after that.
So does the next week…
…
A month later, a random folk from Iran buys your courses for 12 bucks.
Since no one has bought your course for so long, Udemy itself DECREASES the price.
Whatever the case, it's worth celebrating, right?
First sales. Always the best.
“This might be my passive income,” you think, delighted.
…
Another month passes, and still…you don’t see the second sale.
What’s the problem??
What happened??
You started to panic.
“Maybe it needs more…time?” you mutter.
…
Days later, on a Friday evening, you come home from your job.
You hold your phone, and with trembling fingers…
You open the Udemy mobile app.
You click [Revenue report].
“12 dollars…this year…?” you question.
You question it because it doesn’t feel right.
Your content is good, full of value.
How has no one noticed it?!
Hey, it’s not your fault.
The info-products game just isn’t a place for “organic” sales.
Neither is any other market, actually.
Or, I’d rather say:
You can’t expect people to buy without asking them to.
Well, you can try to ask them on Instagram.
Like tons of people already do.
I remember it’s called…
Lots of folks on Reddit have tried it.
Here’s the typical “script” if you’re curious:
“Hey [insert prospect name], are you interested in learning about [insert course name]?”
All other messages are variations of that, whether longer or shorter or adding more “rapport”.
Maybe sometimes, all you have to do is “insert” names.
🤣
Listen, I don’t know a thing about your courses.
But there’s one thing I know about your audience, and I can make sure of it:
People hate being prompted.
You hate being prompted, too.
Remember when you were about to do the dishes (in joy), and your mom commanded you to do it right the moment you just put on your apron?
Pretty annoying, dare I say?
Things are the same with outreaches.
Outreaches = Prompts.
“Then how to sell the damn thing then?!!” you argue.
Hold your horses.
You can do it with a simple “twist”.
Which means…
You just gotta to CONVERT irritating prompts into suggestions, advice, or anything similar!
People ADDICT to those things, psychologically.
And of course, the best way to do this is through email marketing.
Why?
Because the emails you’ll send out will simply look like this:
[Here’s your problem/ nightmare/
frustration…
[Sound familiar?
[If so, I suggest/ advise/ recommend you to check out my product, might solve your problems.]
(Note: This is not a template by any means.)
Here, you’re genuine, kind, and cool.
You actually care and want to change our audience’s lives.
After all, people don’t just buy your courses for knowledge.
They buy because you’re the instructor.
In fact, this plays a huge role in their decision to buy.
Tragically, there are people called “pirates” who WON’T hesitate to STEAL the courses you built with blood and tears.
You thought they were buyers. But in reality, they just buy your courses because so thay can…
Open your course in full-page view…
Hit the big, red, bloody button and start recording their damn screen…
Maybe edit the “footage” a bit to make it “their own thing”...
Then they’ll “launch” YOUR COURSES on their websites and sell them for zero-effort profit!
I know this because I’ve worked with people who were victims of them.
And with a quick search, you can easily find websites like that.
What a shitty way to make a living.
Sure, you might think now’s the day when laws will crush those illegal acts like cookies…
But the truth is, they are still here.
Some websites have been running for over 10 years.
I want to, but I can’t put an image here, well, you know why…
*ehem* assisting in larceny *ehem*
We don’t know how they evaded the laws.
We have no idea how far these “pirates” are willing to go for fast cash, either.
In fact, a lot of people bought courses from these suckers and don’t even know who those courses belong to.
You gotta stop that.
You ARE the key to stopping this tragedy.
You must let people know that your courses belong to you, that you bled a river to build them.
So that people feel bad buying from filthy pirates.
You must stamp your name on your courses and tell your audience to boycott those shady sites.
So that people hate buying from filthy pirates.
You must tell your fans how these sites will happily steal their money and also their bank account info or literally anything to make a profit.
So that people are scared to buy from filthy pirates.
I can’t guarantee those “mental” attacks will stop the evil act.
But whatever the case, you should always rise to protect your own courses.
You cannot let them do whatever they want with your assets.
And you can do that through email marketing.
By sending emails to your audience on a regular basis…
You can direct their attention away from those pirate websites.
And sell them inside the rightful, truthful, and beautiful INBOX.
The mechanism is more than simple:
Say you send 1 email per day.
Done the right way, an email only takes a couple of minutes to write.
And less than a second to click “send”.
Then, when people click the link in your call to action…
They can buy the damn thing and you can earn fresh digital cash.
Just like that.
I’m not saying every email will make you a thousand sales, tho.
But if you’re not sending them
✅ Make more money in your sleep and
never worry about selling courses.
✅ Stop relying on organic conversions
(which, let’s be real, won’t happen).
✅ Never torture yourself again by
sending outreaches that annoy people.
✅ Protect your courses from dark, evil, greedy pirates…
✅ Never again be a slave to platforms like Udemy!
But I understand that this might be another pain for you since you have a whole business to operate with a million things going on and maybe even a job during the day.
So I figured, why don’t I help you a hand?
So…what do you think a tailored and done-for-you email marketing system sounds like?
(damn, that’s a mouthful.)
What do you think about a FREE audit session, where I’ll point out exactly what you should do with your email game?
What do you think about applying to work with me?
There’s no way to take on everyone, but if you have a healthy email list, I can guarantee you’ll get tons of value from the audit alone.
What if…
One day…
Actually, it’s a beautiful sunny morning…
While you’re brushing your teeth…
PING!
You receive a message that says…
...
“You’re just another scammer! 🤬”
…
(*Phone drop)
I don’t know when, but the info-products industry nowadays has started carrying the label “scammers”.
But I bet you’re not one of them.
I bet you are the shining star who is willing to share your wisdom with the people who need it.
Though the harsh truth is, it’s difficult not to be grouped as “scammers”.
So, to not become a “member” of the dark community…
You will spread your “voice”, AKA your personality.
You will tell people you are not one of those f*ckers and that your courses will improve lives.
You will show them, your audience, that you are unique.
You will show them why they should buy from you instead of those shady frauds.
To be completely honest and not a single smarm, I’d say nothing can do all this job at once better than email marketing.
It’s like a magic wand, frankly.
If you’ve ever used Udemy, you can easily see that…
● They split your earnings with you. If you price your courses at $50, they take half, leaving you only with only $25.
● It’s extremely competitive—you’re up against people who sell their “knowledge” for less than a Big Mac. Get it? (AI knowledge. Haha…I mean, what a world we’re living in, right?)
● Udemy has a very strict communication wall—you won’t get any of your students' information, and they generally discourage sharing social media. This means anyone can join your courses…and can easily STEAL them.
● Frankly, you’ve probably seen for yourself that you don’t make much on Udemy unless you’re selling loads.
Who wants to sell knowledge for loads then??
This market is the place where “quality over quantity” should take the lead.
You want your courses to be so valuable that you can only make a few of them, not churn them out like cheap factory goods.
And here’s what Udemy users themselves have to say:
“If you go the Udemy/ Skillshare route without an audience, don't expect to make more than $20-$50 per course, per month.
“Those sites, especially Udemy, have trained the people there to never buy anything above 12 dollars, and they also take 50% of the sale.
“Skillshare is not better, without an audience, don't expect to make more than 1000 to 1500 minutes averaging about 40-60 dollars a month.”
Hell, just imagine paying taxes…
But instead of 10 or 37 percent, they ask for 50.
And it gets worse…
Marketplaces like Udemy punish instructors who don’t bring in their own traffic.
This means, they OPENLY PENALIZE you by putting you behind all others.
It seems to me that the longer you do not bring in people, the harsher the penalties and the less you sell.
I’ve seen many instructors ditch Udemy and start selling from their own websites using email marketing.
Sure. Udemy has like 10-11 million students on the platform, so no matter what you teach, you might still get a random person in Iran checking out your courses one night.
But that’s it.
1 sale out of luck, or less.
Let me get this straight.
You posted your courses on Udemy,
Then, you market your product on Facebook so that you can send people to Udemy to buy your product.
You made the sale all on your own... and you will be sharing revenue with Udemy?
What did Udemy do for you to deserve a cut?
Why didn't you send the traffic to your email list and sell them instead?
Oh, and here’s the kicker…
Udemy INDEPENDENTLY sets the price.
Even if you initially set your course at $50, they can slash it to $13 in weeks without your consent.
You can’t even control your own pricing.
That’s just not worth it.
I stumbled upon a guy who put it bluntly:
“First of all, if you don't have an audience in your own social networks then you're basically fucked, you're gonna have to beg for a few sales here and there, so start building an audience and here to 1 or 2 years, you may have enough people to get a more or less decent pay every month. I would start with a YouTube channel, make weekly videos and build an email list.”
Harsh, but true.
You gotta have a list to send emails to - surprise!
He (or She?) also said:
“If I had to start all over again, I would definitely not waste time with these market sites (Udemy and Skillshare). Instead, I would start a YouTube channel (and maybe other social networks to reinforce it) and make courses only once I have a good amount of views per video (10k to 50k average views per video at least), to sell on my own side at my own prices.”
You see, you don’t need to be a huge name.
You don’t need millions of views.
You don’t need to be on TV.
You don’t need to be a celebrity.
You don’t need a massive list, either.
You just need to have the people who trust in you.
Hey, I have nothing against selling your courses solely through paid ads.
But the days of setting up an ad, letting it run, and making millions have long gone.
However, what if I told you there’s a way to “revive” those days?
What if I told you there’s a way that's even better than paid ads in its most glorious time?
Yes, it’s possible, by leveraging email marketing.
Why though?
Because this thing is not only…
✅ Capture leads for the long term…
✅ Cost much, much less…
✅ But you can also sell to the same group of qualified people multiple times as well.
This is what “one-off” ads can’t—and will never—be able to do.
As I said in the beginning, I will be your personal consultant and “doer”.
This means your solution will be tailored by me—a system that is built just for you.
If you think most copywriters have crappy process and that you have to text and ask them thousands thing all the time...
Think again!
Well, not with me at least.
I'll work based on the process that even a really savvy business owner has praised:
“I love his approach and framework. It’s consistent and defined.
It just makes so much sense!”
- John Canetta
Thank you, John.
"PROCESS?! YOU HAVE A PROCESS?!!"(Yup, unlike many freelancers, right?)
